One of our projects was to design a static mixer to create a chocolate marble structure. We began by pumping two separate chocolate flows into the mixer using gear pumps to achieve this. Moreover, the connections utilised are DIN11851 couplings, the standard for this type of application. Additionally, the mixer sits in a temperature-controlled box, removing the need for a hot water jacket. Furthermore, effective C.I.P. cleaning and sanitary connections are crucial to maintaining a sterile and hygienic environment in the food and beverage industry. Therefore, we designed this mixer with a special sanitary injector that users can easily dismantle for cleaning.
Designers typically create static mixers to achieve high levels of homogeneity, targeting an efficiency of 96%. However, reducing the number of elements decreases mixing efficiency. The required number of elements, in turn, depends on various parameters, such as velocity and viscosity. Consequently, we supply element chains with 1, 2, 4, and 8 mixing elements, offering a wide range of options for maximum flexibility. These four items can be combined to create configurations of 1 to 15 mixing elements, providing ample testing flexibility.
